On WIndows 7 - I use Synchtoy to backup documents (including music and
email libraries) and my current photo projects to an external drive.
Image files are copied onto dedicated local hard drives that are backup
up via sysnchtoy to corresponding external drives. I made a point to
configure my email program to locate the email message files in the
documents folder so it would be updated.
I use WIndows backup to backup the system partition (Win7 system files
and installed programs), but less frequently than backing up data. I am
proabbly vulnerable to losing program configuration info, macros, etc.

I'm playing around with back up software. The one that I was using

I've always just done this sort of thing manually by dragging and
dropping from one drive to another, but there must be an easier way.
What are some good back up programs that work in a Win7 64 bit
environment?
I am not concerned about free, I want something that works easily and
doesn't create it's own type of file as a back up (Acronis, as an
example, creates something with it's own file extension and calls that
a back up).
I suspect what I am looking for is something that creates a disc image.
