Hi Everyone:

Well, I downloaded the free Nik Collection. I can open jpegs in the “edit in”
option in Lightroom, but I can’t open DNGs. Should I be able to open DNGs in
the Nik Collection? I really don’t know much about this software. Any usage
suggestions are welcomed.

Anyway, I had a bit of play with the app collection, which you can see in the
small gallery below. I used the Fuji Velvia filter for those fall leaves—they
sure do pop. I have to say this collection could be quite fun. There are tons
of options for rendering play including a multiple exposure option, which I
used with the second balloon shot. In that first bird shot, I played around
with the bokeh feature.

Overall, I think it will be a nice addition to photo software—especially given
it’s free, though the rumor is google will probably abandon the software
eventually. Anybody hear anything about this?

Comments welcome. Cheers, Christine
