Christine - just do it.

I have not yet moved to the CC version of Lightroom. Since LR6.0 I have 
regularly updated, just went to 6.10 a few minutes ago. I have seen no negative 
consequences of doing the upgrades.
Under the Lightroom Help menu, choose Updates and go from there. Easier than 
going to Adobe directly, and then having to wade through menus and options to 
finally find the non-CC version of your update(s).
