Bob, Thanks!
Ugh, you've been busy with medical horror. Sorry to hear of the gout … I get that occasionally too, it really and truly sucks. It's been a while since a flare-up hit—I take great pains to avoid them. Hopefully it will pass quickly and you can get back to "life as it ought to be." Getting home again consumed most of yesterday, but I did get out on the motorcycle for a few errands and then for dinner with my moto friends. Damn, I just love to ride two wheelers, whether powered or not! Racer is just such a happy machine, he loves to rev and rev. Today I have a 15-20 mile bicycle ride planned, depending on how late it is when I drag my butt away from my desk; there's still a bunch of stuff to manage preparatory to the holiday trip coming up. It would be great to go for a bike ride over there … or for you to head over here for a ride. I know the local bicycle shop does rentals. We have to think about that for some time in the future when you're fit again … and I'm more fit so I can keep up with you! :-) (I'll be over to Ireland and the Isle of Man for the X-day/New Years festivities, but I had to defer travel to your locale until the next trip. So the opportunity might arise later in 2018.) Feel better, G — The trouble with being punctual is that nobody's there to appreciate it. > On Nov 29, 2017, at 12:13 AM, Bob W-PDML <[email protected]> wrote: > > That's great to hear; it really shows. > > I've been going in the opposite direction, with no cycling since September > because of surgery, which was immediately followed by a heavy cold, and I'm > now still in the throes of a gout attack which has lasted over two weeks and > which was indescribably brutal at its height. > > Hopefully I can soon start to rebuild some fitness, and we can ride together > sometime.
