Thanks, yes it's extraordinary how painful it is. My present bout has almost 
cleared up, thank God. I take allopurinol daily to keep the uric acid levels 
down. During this flare-up I was given a course of colchicine, and also have a 
course to keep on standby.

I'll be in France over Christmas, and again at New Year. But later in the year 
would be nice if possible. I may retire to France next year, so you could even 
come over there.
