Dave - I just bought for $39 lifetime license for windows movie maker -
wanted to make a slide show of selected shorts for my youtube channel and
to play around with editing some vids I have accumulated .. it looks
very user friendly and is nicer but similar to the version I had several
years ago
that I got lazy in using.. will let you know how it goes.. maybe there
is a version for macs :-)

So, after 2 and a half days, off and on, trying to get iMovie to do
its thing with my slideshow i gave up. I watched a large number of
videos on how to do it, even found videos specific to my version
number iMovie "11 ( version 9.0.4) to no avail. It would show my title
slides and that it, all other photos showed up as black screen. I went
so9.3.5 far as to export the movie thinking the photos would show up
but nothing.I even found videos on how to work around that but nothing
worked. Eventually found a site that said imovie and El Captain, which
is my OS has a bug, no s*(t.
I am beginning to understand Johns computer frustrations now.:-)
So, work around was to just transfer photos to iPad mini 2 and will do
a swipe right and show the photos that way next month. My iPad is
uptopdate according to iTunes as far as OS goes, 9.3.5 and no other
updates found or offered. I cannot update my 21.5" iMac as its to old
for the newest OS or so Apple says. Says older 2012 i have middle
2011.
At least the photos will be seen. Glad i did not get the old macbook
although iMovie might have worked.LOL
