I've said it before … I don't know why you won't call Apple Support and work 
out your problems with them. They're the experts and they're paid to help 
customers like you. I use their services all the time, even though by most 
standards I'm pretty knowledgeable and expert on macOS and iOS things. They 
have nearly always come up with a fix or an explanation for why something that 
doesn't work is the way it is.
