tom, I'm curious about reliability of Pentax flash units. I have 3 AF360FGZ's and one is in the shop waiting parts - electronic problems. Previously, my wife had broken the foot off a AF330FTZ. My old AF500FTZ never seemed to have any problems at all.
I had heard that the new units (AF360FGZ) were made by Sunpak. They don't feel particularly sturdy - not as sturdy as the 500FTZ. Tom, what kind of failures are you experiencing? Physical breakdown, electronic, etc? Are you happy with the sturdiness and reliability of the 500FTZ? I've been eyeing the Quantum unit but is is very heavy to use on a bracket (44 oz).
