I have 4 500's. 3 have broken hot shoes, the 4th has a battery door
that's taped shut.

Now I have a 400 too.

They're all made by Sunpak. I don't think any camera maker makes their
own flash units.

Broken shoes, fried boards, a couple of drops. The shoes seem to be
extra delicate.

Um, yes and no. They break a lot, but all the guys I talk to say *all*
flash units are delicate.

Yeah, I think it's too heavy and expensive....I'm going to try a Metz
