This is pure and utter nonsense. The MZ-S interface is self explanatory. The Z-1p requires reading the manual. The MZ-S make it possible to change exposure modes and meter modes without taking the eye from the viewfinder something thats completely impossible with the Z-1p. It also reire far less actions from almost any function compared to the Z-1p. I also strongly disagree that the Z-1p is bulletproof under pressure. It's under pressure it really fails as I always overscroll or turn the wrong dial in wrong direction when in a hurry. In fact, the reason for Pentax simplified the interface is that in particular the Z-1p was seen as overcomplicated (in spite of the fact that it is quite user friendly compared to other brands of cameras of similar vintage). On thing is preferences but it's an undisputable fact that the Z-1p is way more compex in use than the MZ-S or the MZ-5 (which has the same interface) by any measure. The trend away from Z-1p type interface has been industrywise. Both Minoltas a Nikon bodes get more and more dedicated switches and buttons for particular functions instead having 46 function on one wheel. Pl - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
