Maybe if you've been so fortunate that you have used focus point selection you may 
have figured out that it is indeed ergonomic enough.

Huh? When using the MZ-S on a tripod focus point selection can indeed be considered 
less ergonomic since most people don't use their left arm when using the camera on a 
tripod. The MZ-S AF point selection interface is maximized for hand holding 
situations.
