Dennis or others,
What exactly are you measuring, center to center or edge to edge? By
the comments I would have to think center to center spacing but just wanted to
confirm that (i.e. 35 mils = bridges. I would think so!).

Dennis, the main issue is the PnP head's diameter or width. In our case
we have an older PnP machine and we are forced to use 30 mils part edge to part
edge strictly because of the PnP head diameter of 0.060". You don't want the
head to collide with adjacent parts that were already placed. We should
probably allow just a little bit more but that gets to expensive on board
realty and it is a pain for placement grid.

Yeah, 50 mil is about the smallest I go for hand, had one board house in
AU who could do 35 mil but it was tight and had alot of issues with
solder bridges :( so now I mainly stick to 50mil

Kat.
