The DDB will become bigger unless you have "compact on close" enabled in
preferences.

I have seen 20M ddbs drop to 3 to 4M in some cases.

It's the same with most things that use the jet database like MS Access etc.

You would not have the same issue if you used the WFS for storage in 99SE as
the .ddb file is just a link file.

VCS support is native in DXP2004 and can be iused from within the enviroment
itself on a per file basis.

I do not use it myself with AD, but you should get a demo copy from your
Altium VAR, create a dummy account and user for MS VSS, and try the
interface for yourslef.
