I imagine that they are about the same as that in Egypt. A mixture of pro-Western opportunists like Mohamed ElBaradei and political Islam, like the Muslim Brotherhood. Of course, there has been a stubborn refusal by the crypto-Stalinist left to see Qaddafi in the same terms as Mubarak because the blundering Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega--not to speak of the mental midgets in the USA--remember Qaddafi from 35 years ago, not as he is today. That being said, that Qaddafi from Christmas Past was in cahoots with the dreadful Carlos the Jackal who Chavez recently paid tribute to as a great revolutionary. Now of course those who refuse to buy into the Qaddafi as revolutionary myth are implicitly lumped with the Obama administration. This kind of Stalinist slander was perfected in the 1930s and his third-generation imitators are doing a rather shitty job at resuscitating it. _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
