No, it is not a prediction and a certainty.  This is where you have to
place it in its social context.  It is not like evolution, genetics,
geology, or physics.

It serves an ideological purpose.  It is no more a certainty, saying
that the supply of oil is finite, that it is a certainty saying,
"Someday it will rain."  Both statements are true, both have no meaning.
