Which 68 pin cable are you talking about? LVD or just plain old 68pin Ultra
Wide Single Ended? For LVD, almost all cables come with activetermination or
terminators for LVD are active. LVD specs pretty much requires active
termination to function properly. If you are having only 1 device on the
chain, you might get away with passive termination. This is for both SE and
LVD chains. For a little more, get active termination. If you want to find
out if it's passive or active, you will need to use voltmeter and impedance
check on your scsi chain. Hassle to do. Can't remember which pin you have to
test for either. I use an ASUS P2B-S with AIC7890 controller. The same as
the 2940 U2W, and it comes with active terminated LVD cable and non
terminated 50Pin and 68pin SE cables. Most SE devices have termination on
board. No LVD device has termination on board.
Hope this helps.
