Definitely yes. I cite the following snippets from the press release (all
emphasis mine):
- "will develop Visual Perl and Visual Python *to work with* Microsoft's
upcoming Visual Studio 7.0"
- "ability to *drop* Visual Perl and Visual Python *into* Visual Studio"
- "a valuable compliment to the suite of programming languages currently
available in Visual Studio" (he means "complement", of course)
Don't ask me about the details (such as whether you can have Visual Studio
without any other language, or whether it comes with Visual C++, or with any
Microsoft language, or whatever), but it appears clear to me that you can
have VS without Visual P(?:erl|ython).
Whether you can have VP without VS, I don't know -- perhaps they bring their
own version of VS. Or maybe you *will* be able to use VP stand-alone.
