Why? PDL works just fine on Mac OS X. I am using it right now. There are two options -- one is the one-click SciKarl install now so kindly maintained by Matthew Kenworthy. The other is a custom installation which is no different from regular Unix installation. Once all the bits and bobs are in place, installing PDL is a cinch. It is difficult to write about a custom install because, well, because it is custom. Once I have some time, I will write about the components I installed upon which PDL was built, but really, except for PLplot (and GSL and slatec), I didn't encounter any problem at all. In other words, PDL does "support" Mac OS X. -- Puneet Kishor http://www.punkish.org Carbon Model http://carbonmodel.org Charter Member, Open Source Geospatial Foundation http://www.osgeo.org Science Commons Fellow, http://sciencecommons.org/about/whoweare/kishor Nelson Institute, UW-Madison http://www.nelson.wisc.edu ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Assertions are politics; backing up assertions with evidence is science ======================================================================= _______________________________________________ Perldl mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.jach.hawaii.edu/mailman/listinfo/perldl
