The link for SciKarl is in the wiki
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/pdl/index.php?title=Installing_PDL_on_Mac_OS_X

It is dated 2007, but seems to install PDL 2.4.3. I think that Matt is
shepherding SciKarl now, but I don't have the link to it right now.

Yes. However, by prominently listing "Linux" and "Windows," it seems
as if other operating systems are not supported. Perhaps the page
should be something like so --

One-Click Install Packages
---------------------------------------
- Linux
  - various flavors of Linux that have PDL install packages
- Mac OS X
  - SciKarl
- Windows

Manual Installation
---------------------------
For custom installation on Unix-like operating systems such as Linux
and Mac OS X, please see the wiki

It is documented. It is in the wiki under "Manual Installation."

No, no. That is not the state of affairs. I got PDL up and running on
Mac OS X, and I am a beginner at this stuff. Once again, except for a
couple of modules, PDL builds and installs just fine on a Mac.

The instructions are --

1. Successfully install all the dependencies that you want.
2. Install PDL.

Each dependency might have its own quirk, and that is really outside
the purview of PDL.
