We are not sure how it was obtained. The founder of the historic home 
picked it up. I have heard of Krylon for preserving this, but what is great 
stuff expansion foam? Do I use both Great Stuff expansion foam *and *matte 
clear coat? I would be very interested in ways to preserve this
