"does anyone have ideas as to what content is needed, and/or have time to
write it?"

Mark

I think that is absolutely spot on, and one of the main reasons that I chose
Joomla, because I feel that the web site should be group driven and not just
one persons impression of what we're all about.

At the moment the site is hosted on my own server on a spare domain name so
I am more than willing to give suitably qualified members the necessary
access to tinker with the site until we feel that both the loo and the
content is right. We can then look to migrating it to the LUG servers for
general release.

I appreciate there are a lot of very busy people in the group and that spare
time is at a premium but if a few of us can manage to do a bit whenever we
can I think we could end up with something really good.

Please also bear in mind that this is my very first dive into Joomla so
everything I do is preceded by lots of time consuming documentation reading
first. So, help me out a bit if you can.

For example, it has been suggested to widen the main area on the site - I
don't know how at the moment - but will look it up in due course. Unless of
course someone wants to tackle that bit themselves, or post to the list
instructions on how to edit those sort of features in Joomla.

Just wanted to say that the new site is a great step forward, although
you'll be aware already from the comments here so far that the devil is
in the detail; getting the design right will be a tough one. But if we
can get content sorted that would be a great start, so to that end does
anyone have ideas as to what content is needed, and/or have time to
write it?

A good starting point would be more info about the meeting venue (how to
find it etc), and since the page is already there that's quite easy to
build on. But what should the PLUG website actually be saying? There's
no point just repeating information elsewhere; it should really focus on
Linux/FOSS use/promotion/support/etc in the Peterborough area. Any case
studies we can work on?
