Sorry that wasnt a very helpful answer but it was funny when I thought of
it. Honest!!

Seriously though if I was forced to pass judgement on this I would say "its
Vista", certainly from what you have described, and I can understand I can't
find anything wrong in the setup, and - as I forgot to include in my
previous analysis, and you rightly pointed out and reminded me, this error
only occurs from Vista machines.

And remember the problem is only happening when the request is made from
Vista..   So I think its something right down at 'packet level', the way
modjk sends and vistas tcp stack acknowledges..

Yep, I'd go with that.
