Have a look at the following website:

http://www.cowonglobal.com/

These are multi platform as well as supporting a range of codecs - even
ogg and I think flac (not 100% sure about flac though). They work with
Amarok (most should do). I've been considering changing my iPod for an
iAudio7 or the Cowon D2. The best thing about these is not only do you
get the internal storage of the player, it also has a card slot so you
can extend the storage capacity! My only grip about the units are the
limited internal storage but I figure this will grow in time though. To
me, this is what the iPod should have been!

Subject: Re: [Peterboro] Linux support for Zen player

I bought the Zen 4gb model today, it doesnt work with Linux, only
windows (with proprietary software), so Im taking it back to the shop
tomorrow for a refund.

Among other reports, I also found...

Shame, it looked so nice

Not sure about video support. My Zen is the 'Touch'
model, which is MP3
only as far as I know. I haven't looked beyond Amarok
for managing my
files and synchronising with the Zen, so can't say if
there is anything
                that can handle video.
