Seems like most people agree here that the image is your project. Something that "just gives you a different view" within your live image is not really what I would call a project and calling it that only adds to the confusion. It does sound like there is a group (not everyone has the same work habbits) that really likes the concept of virtual desktops within an image; desks, spaces, workspaces ....
