Hi Doug,

Let me know if you received the e-mail I sent off list to you.

Did the new diamond come from Expert stylus? On the DD reproducer the
stylus bar pin makes a huge difference.
The ones from Expert I have gotten have the pin way too tight, this will
reduce the sound. I tune the Edison DD reproducer by adjusting the pin fit,
it should be free to move, but not so free that it will move on its own.

There are several things each reproducer needs, the hinge block must move
freely, the diaphragm must be good, and have proper size gaskets.

Most of the time the new diamond will not sound quite as good, but should
have the same volume. If you are interested in the best sound, I recommend
the Bogantz diaphragm which costs $6.00 and requires no modification and
eliminates the dirty sound on the Edison DD.

Wyatt has NOS bars and stylus for around $80 and I have done reproducers for
two people who have bought them and the sound is excellent.
