Robert, Agreed! But I see you got my point. Third party sellers exist at Amazon. I own a business. I, the seller do jump through hoops to entice customers. I do not expect my customers to jump through hoops however. Paypals growth I feel has more to do with eBay than it's policies. I admit eBay's Paypal satisfies the I want it now American way, I just don't like giving what seems to be unneeded personal information to third parties. I don't remember but before eBay brought Paypal did they need a bank account number? Maybe this is a result of the class action lawsuit against Paypal for (?) acting like a credit company? Come to think of it, hows does your CC company offer you so much protection without you bank acct number. Paypals problem is that if piad by a CC you can dispute the transaction. eBay wants no part of that, just the fees. They would not pay because it was not packed correctly. The bottom line is that this was the sellers fault. They did not pack it correctly. I did speak to them about how to pack it and they charged me for professional packing at a shipping center, and pocketed the money. They had 100% positive feedback at the time. They also refused to give me my money back. Given the facts what would you have done next if you were me? Papal cancelled both of our accounts as well as the seller EBay account. In my opinion they should go after the seller for the amount of the chargeback. They have all the documentation. It is a very clear cut case. Why cancel my account? They (EBay) have become too big and don't have enough competition. EBay now owns a 25% share in Craigslist. As much as I see room for improvement on EBay I still use their service because they own the online Auction market. If I want to get top dollar for my products I have to sell with them. I strongly disagree with your statement, "any trust issues with the company and/or process are just needless paranoia". I understand why you think like this. Most Papal users probably will not experience any problems. However if you ever do experience a problem with Papal I think you will change your tune. As I have said in the past, the lesson I learned from this is - pay with your credit card (through Papal). On high end purchases your credit card company may be your only recourse in a transaction gone bad. Enough said. Let's talk about phonographs!!!
