The problem with bidding early is as vinyl states. Also the bidder has a feeling of ownership. That is to say if someone bids they are taking your item away and you will "attack" with a new and higher bid. I use attack because that is just what the lizard brain does...Someone took it away. Sneak attacks are better, last second bidding. Why show your cards? And never forget the person that will BUI, bid under the influence. eBay encourages proxy bidding for a reason. They don't call 'em bidding wars for no reason. Oldcranky
