I have over 1000 servers, including galera clusters ;-)
sphinx config: /etc/sphinx/sphinx.conf
www config : /var/www/config-site.php
piler config: /usr/local/etc/piler.conf
sql: /usr/local/share/piler/db-mysql.sql

Hi,
I have ~45DB servers in multiple clusters running with several of
software connection in HA setups., so installation will not be the
problem if known is which DB's are created by the postinstall and
which settings are made.
I see in the piler.conf a mysql password but no host or port (port
might not be needed).
The documentation is a little bit small on this part, so that is why I ask.
The same for Sphinx, nothing in the docs is mentioned about it.
Thanks for the information.

You will need to follow the installation guide or hire someone to install
and configure.
If you are using an remote mysql server you will need to correctly configure
all components to connect to remote mysql.
It might be easier for you to first use piler with a localhost mysql server.
Once its working then try with a remote mysql server.

Hi Guys,
I ahve installed Piler and did a postinstall but something didn't went
well.
The installer accepted my user and root password for the postinstall
but my DB which I created on the mysql server stays empty.
I also cannot start piler as it cannot connect to the database server,
same for the webinterface where sphinx looks for localhost (127.0.0.1)
What am I missing here, does the piler install creates the DB and the
user for you on the databaseserver ? And what do I need to change more
in my config ?
Thanks!
Matt
