From Dixie: Dear Denise, As you read more on these pituitary tumors, you will read that most think it is imperative to have a specialist in this type of disease. My, I think it is quite a "coincidence" that your daughter works there. I certainly hope you can arrange a visit to that facility. I live in Sacramento, and belong to an HMO that is probably similar to the VA, thinking they have specialists but actually it takes much experience - they say 2000 of these surgeries, to make a specailist. I am sort of like you, waiting for my next MRI in March to find out what is coming up for me. My tumors/cysts are 1 cm and 4mm, according to my last March MRI. I will try to get a referral to Portland or LA, if and when I need surgery. In the meantime, I try to not think about it. I take Armour thyroid and 25 mg. of Elavil for sleep and am feeling pretty good. Must be beautiful in Alaska. Stay warm - Dixie
