Dear Denise,
As you read more on these pituitary tumors, you will read that most
think it is imperative to have a specialist in this type of disease.
My, I think it is quite a "coincidence" that your daughter works there.
I certainly hope you can arrange a visit to that facility.
I live in Sacramento, and belong to an HMO that is probably
similar to the VA, thinking they have specialists but actually it takes
much experience - they say 2000 of these surgeries, to make a
specailist. I am sort of like you, waiting for my next MRI in March to
find out what is coming up for me. My tumors/cysts are 1 cm and 4mm,
according to my last March MRI. I will try to get a referral to
Portland or LA, if and when I need surgery. In the meantime, I try to
not think about it.
I take Armour thyroid and 25 mg. of Elavil for sleep and am feeling
pretty good.
Must be beautiful in Alaska.
