Jenny, You say your tumor is micro at 0.5 cm or (5mm). I know this is the standard name for this size of a tumor BUT, I believe, the pituitary itself is only 0.3 cm (3mm) or so in size. That is the size of a pea. So, it would seem any thing as large or larger attached to the pituitary would significantly affect its ability to function properly. I only say this because I got the feeling you are being lead by those in the medical field that your tumor is small and may therefore not be a significant problem. I think that is very wrong, if they are saying that. I have gotten many wrong opinions and diagnoses by well meaning doctors who just don't understand the pituitary and its possible disorders from tumors. Thank goodness I am strong and persistent, tho' very ill, and still seeking the right specialist for this area. I won't give up and may die trying to get the right help. I hope this is encouraging to you and helpful. You may ask others in this group or other groups if they agree. Pam |
