New Message on Pituitary Chat Just diagnosed with a Prolactinoma Reply   Reply to Sender   Recommend Message 6 in Discussion From: nick-lynda-texas Hello Melissa,  My wife was diagnoised about 1 month ago with a 2.5 cm by 1.5 cm tumor just below the pituitory and somewhat covering it in the sella.  We went to 2 Neurosurgeons (1 at MD Anderson in Houston Tx and one in Dallas at UT Southwestern Medical School) who both felt sure she had a Pituitory Adnoma that was producing prolactin  Her prolactin levels were between 2100 and 2475 with the 2 different lab test.  She has started on Dostinex (.5 MG) 2 times per week.  She to went through 6 months of sinus infections and headaches before her Dr sent her for a CT to check her sinuses for a deep infection and they saw the tumor.  For 15 days before we saw the first Neurosurgeon she had bad headaches that lasted 24 hours per day.  She has taken Dostinex for 2 weeks and feels lousy and very tired.  Everything I read about treatment says you may want to try Dostinex as opposed to Parlodel.  Hope things work out OK for you.  God Bless.  Nick.
