Hi All- I had the transphenoidal surgery back in May 04.  My prolactin was 96-108....108 being the highest it ever tested.  My symtoms consisted of amenorrhea (for almost 4 years) and fatique, anxiety and bouts with depression.  I never produced breast milk even though they were convinced that it was a prolactinoma--I didn't fully agree because I had read the same thing...under 200 and it might be something else.  I also read that you are a good candidate for 100% cure with surgery if your prolactin is under 200.   I of course had my tumor sent to pathology after the surgery and while it was benign (thank goodness) they claimed to have found traces of prolactin in the tumor??  I still don't fully believe that it was a prolactinoma.  I believe that the stalk compression I experienced happen to raise my prolactin just a bit.  I am also on Effexor--which I had to inform my Endo raises prolactin levels?? Hmmmmm.  Good thing I knew that:)  I am sure that you have all felt the same way at one point or another.   I refused to take the medicine (Bromo or Dosinex) because I didn't believe that I had a prolactinoma which so far (knock on wood) was a wonderful choice due to the fact that surgery cured me and thus far I have had no symptoms of grow back.  As for the fatigue...before I was diagnosed...I was CHRONICALLY EXHAUSTED and always just thought I was over doing it.  Doctors don't know enough about these tumors and they often overgeneralize in my opinion.  They also, from my experience, seem to think that we choose to make up symptoms-- Like they aren't real.  Maybe they are afraid to admit that they possibly don't know ALL symptoms.  No 2 human bodies are identical and Physiology and Biology aside--Anything can happen.  Best of luck to you all in your search for Health!!!  God Bless!
