Hi LoSNaz,

I am glad to hear that your surgery went well. I am sorry that you are having a tough time with recovery. I know you have had a difficult time communicating with Dr. Swearingen, but I wanted to assure you that he is very thorough. I consulted seven neurosurgeons and he was the most thorough, understanding, and informative. I know every patient has a different experience/opinion with/of every doctor they see. Even if Dr. Swearingen is short with his answers, you can be sure that he is very thorough with his work.

The reason I decided to consult him three years ago was because of another patient's experience with him. After returning home to Philadelphia (I believe) post-op, the patient began having problems. Dr. Swearingen flew down there on his own dime to check on him and make sure that he was receiving the best care. I knew then that he cared about his patients.

Have you talked with your neuro-endo about your post-op concerns? That is the person who should be managing your post-op care. Do you have one at MGH?

I will keep you and your recovery in my prayers.

Take care.
Meri
