Thanks for the info. His tumor before surgery was over
4 cm. He is not expected to have his pituitary start
to re-function. It was damaged during the surgery.
He has had hit hormones checked at least 3 times now; twice
prior to surgery and once after. They will redo the test
this coming Tuesday when we see the Endo Dr. again. He is
currently taking 5 mg of Prednisone daily, 200 mg injections of
Testosterone bi-weekly and 0.1 mg of Levothroid daily. His
thyroid and cortisol were moderately low (not sure of exact
numbers) and his testosterone was almost non-existent at
10. Everything else so far seems to be doing ok. He
did have diabetes insipidus right after surgery, but it is no
longer a problem. As for systems that he had before
he was diagnosed, they were only loss of vision (which he
is regaining), fatigue, and a slightly less sex drive (his
pre-surgery Testosterone was at 420).

I have been doing some research on radiation therapy and
gamma knife. They all sound scary. Radiation sounds
like is takes many weeks and as we live 2 hours away from the
facility this would mean many more weeks out of work with no
income coming in. As for the Gamma Knife, I don't know how
he will make it through. He is very claustrophobic and can
barely make it through the MRI's with Valium and me holding his
hand while he is in. Being all by himself during the
Gamma Knife procedure might be more that he can
take.

Again thanks for this information. This has been
a very scary 4 months for my husband and
me. | | View other groups in this
