I have acromegaly also. The tumor was removed in December. The levels decreased following surgery but did not return to normal. They waited ~3 months before starting Sandostatin LAR. There is alot of swelling and general disruption following the surgery so they have to wait before starting any intervention to see where you really are at. The levels normalized after 1 dose. I am being watched on a regular basis with testing of blood levels every 2 to 3 months. Once you are diagnosed with this you will need to be monitored forever.
