Hey Loaferjohn – I was wondering why the neurosurgeon would recommend radiation instead of surgery? At 1.1 cm your tumor is not that large. Is it in a bad location? Does this neurosurgeon do a lot of pituitary surgery? This surgery is invasive as it removes a tumor from your head, but my son was able to have his 2.3 cm tumor removed through his nose. Less than 24 hours after surgery he was eating Taco Bell in the ICU. He is starting college this week only 6 weeks after his surgery. I am not saying his is 100%, but he is doing well. There are a lot of individuals on this list that will be able to give you valuable information, but I would highly recommend that you get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon that does a lot of pit tumor surgery. Good Luck – Chris – Ogy’s Mom
