I would also recommend getting a second oppinion from a pituitary specialist. I had a 2.6cm tumor removed through the nose without damaging my pituitary function. Radiation is usually saved for a second attempt if surgery does not work. Radiation causes scaring and most likly surgery will not be an option if the radiation does not work. Also radiation can take months or years to work so your symptoms will not impove very fast. I don't understand why pituitary function can't return if the tumor is removed without damaging the pit gland. If radiation is used there is a high likelyhood that pit function will decrease over time. Wishing you the best, Daryl |
