I was diagnosed last Nov. with a 1.1cm tumor. My Prolactin was only 180 and my testerone was very low as was my HGH. My endo had me take Dostinex and followed up with bloodwork every 60 days till May. In May, my Testosterone level was unmeasurable, and she had me start taking Androgel. Since then, my Testosterone level has gone up dramaticly. My HGH is unchanged. Now my Cortisol level is low. She had me start taking 5mg of Prednisone. I had a follow up MRI in June and the tumor was unchanged. She decided that I should see a Neurosurgeon to have the tumor removed.

I saw the surgeon on Tuesday, and he said that if I was him, he would take Gamma Knife Surgery over the invasive surgery. My Neurosurgeon tells me that no matter what course I take I will never produce Testosterone naturally again. Does anyone know if that is true? He said this is the case for everyone. Also, has anyone had the Gamma Knife Surgery and if so, has it affected the function of your pituitary afterward? Thanks in advance for your help. I am so glad I found this board.
