Yes, I have a microadenoma of the pituitary for the
last 4 years. Grows about a half a millimeter a year.
Seems to be nonfunctioning, even though I have
extremely high levels of pancreatic polypeptide and
pancreastatin. I also have episodically low cortisol
and PTH with high levels of ionized Ca. Those labs to
are episodic in naturee. the 24 hr urine tests always
come out just fine. I get the flushing and diareaha
associated with Carcindoid syndrome of some other sort
of NET. Although to date we cannot find any other
tumor than the pit tumor.

I have episodes where I cannot remember names of
people I have worked with my entire life, chronic
fatigue, I cant even carry groceries in from the car.
climbing steps just about does me in. I have a hard
time even talking sometimes. It comes out garbled.

I have never had radio-therapy and take Sandostatin
LAR 30mg every 3 weeks. that keeps the flushing under
control. If I find myself in that stupor and cant
think or talk well, I do take a 3mg shot of Sando Subq
and that works within 15 minutes.

Doesnt make life perfect, but it sure does help. I
HAVE to avoid ALL kinds of stress and alcohol, that
will kick it in every time.

Hope this helps.

Jack
