----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: sbux_addict Message 15 in Discussion I also have a hard time remembering exactly when things occurred. I've started making sure I write down details for anything I'll need to remember later. I forget dates (appointments, birthdays, etc), events that happened in the past, even phone numbers if I don't use them often enough (and I used to have no problem remembering them before). I also carry a planner now, and put post it notes everywhere. It helps a lot but I still manage to forget things. It's very frustrating not being able remember when things happened, or what happened. Especially when friends or family cite specific incidents. It's like I wasn't even there. Makes me sad. Sometimes when prompted I can remember, other times it's like it never happened. This "fog" I deal with makes me feel so stupid even when I know I'm not. I worry about returning to the workforce. I've also tried repeating things to myself to strengthen my memory. It's funny because I can remember things word for word (I used to have an almost photographic memory) for a few hours, then it's like my mind goes blank again. I have a hard time conjuring simple words or events for conversation..and I have a hard time remembering what certain words mean, even though I used to know. For this reason I think I stutter more than I used to, or pause more often in conversation to try to grasp the words I need. I also have a hard time interpreting what people say to me. It's like I'm translating English for myself..and English is my native language. I ask people to repeat themselves so often I used to think I had a hearing problem. Now I realize it's a memory issue. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
