Yep, I'd say olfactory hallucinations are almost universal with us on the 
PitChat board. Maybe the best discussion of it is by Dr. Douglas Hoffman on his 
doctorhoffman.com website, "Phantom Smells." He correctly identifies brain 
tumor as one prime cause, and adds other possible suspects.  "Q: I constantly 
smell odors that aren't really there. I can't pinpoint what the odor is, but 
the sensation is real. What would cause this?" Dr. Hoffman's blog, Wax, 
Boogers, and Phlegm, also covers the subject. If you want a more technical, 
scientific discussion, here's one at the Otolaryngological Archives.    I tell 
about my phantom smells experience on my blog, Brain Tumor: First Person, "the 
Smelly smells Of something That smells -- Smelling What's Not There."   You're 
not alone. Cruise these message boards and you'll find lots of us are
