----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Willard1H Message 6 in Discussion A co-worker of mine got in trouble this week when he thought he smelled burning insulation in the million-dollar machine we was running. I couldn't smell it, but begged off because of my congestion from medication. Even worse, brain tumors often caused phantosmia, "imaginary" smells. Mine come and go, usually with the same odor persisting for weeks.... gasoline, burned plastics, deodorant, etc. Then I realized maybe this guy had the same problem. He's being treated for Bipolar Disorder, which does all kinds of strange things to the brain. Usually it doesn't involve physical changes such as we Pit Tumor folks suffer. But it can vary. Many of our newer members probably missed this discussion from Feb. - March 2008, so I thought I'd revive it. Anyone out there wondering about smelling bad odors, or wondering if your smeller has gone crazy? I suspect it's more likely to show up when the seasons change, and the savings time clock is reset. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
