Hi,

Saw the 'OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied' while 'pfexec pkg install [email protected],5.11' on SUNWusb. Tried to roll-back the original BE and then re-installed it .... somehow failed with same error but on different package. What's that error actually mean ... do I need a higher privilege on root profiles ?

Try rolling back to the original be and doing
pkg install -nv [email protected],5.11-0.111

Assuming that output is reasonable (ie, it's only installing entire), then do:
pkg install [email protected],5.11-0.111

If the original wasn't reasonable, please show the output of it.

Hi,

Let me summarize the steps needed to upgrade from 111b to 123 based on my AI server with 'empty entire' ... please confirm it

1. list boot env.

   # beadm list

2. create a snapshot of existing BE in case need to roll-back

   # pfexec zfs snapshot rpool/ROOT/opensolari...@before_upgrading

3. install entire

   # pfexec pkg install [email protected],5.11

4. workaround other bugs

   # pfexec pkg refresh --full

5. install SUNWipkg ... also confirm it stalls b123 version
Confirm that it installs the b111 version.

   # pfexec pkg install -nv SUNWipkg
5.5 Run the install without -n to actually do the install properly.

6. then ... do the image-update
