The tile server packages were mostly maintained by David Paleino, with
his lack of time those packages are in need of some more attention. I
very much welcome you help with that.

Having the common OSM rendering chains packaged for Debian and its
derivative is also very welcome, so I'll look into the issues blocking
inclusion of mod_tile/renderd soon.

Regarding you last changes, I fixed a small syntax issue with the YAML
format for the upstream metadata and uploaded the resulting packages.
