Which is a good reason to use a different email client when dealing
with recipients outside your company.

Look, I'm an IBM employee (which owns Lotus). Which means I could
be in deep-shit for saying what I've said in this mailing list about
Lotus Notes.  Nonetheless, I have to be honest. The members of IBM's
Linux Technology Center have been told, in no uncertain terms, that
when exchanging email with the Linux community they are not to use
Notes. Why? Because it violates several Internet RFCs ("rules") and
common conventions. Not to mention that it makes it needlessly difficult
to observe proper email etiquette. Need I say more?
