OK thanks again. Firstly, there is no way I can run an alternate email client, and no way to bypass the security and rules we have set up - nor would I want to.
As for well established rules, well, not in my world. Forgive me for observing that you seem to be priviledged to exist in a Linux techo world, of which that the majority are not even aware. None of the mainstream email clients that I have used are bothered by threading (outlook for example), or else I've simply never noticed, nor needed the option. The only place I have observed that is in usenet newsgroups. Nevertheless, as I said, I will respect your wishes and avoid the reply with new topic mistake. I have a suggestion. If these 'rules' are indeed agreed upon by the majority, you need to to publish them to new users. Send them out in the Welcome message that everyone receives upon joining the list, or put them on http://lists.rubberchicken.org/mailman/listinfo/plucker-list . You cannot expect people to know, and obey rules that are unknown and undiscoverable to/by them.
