Also, when you send mail to anyone outside your own organization
you are supposed to know about proper mail etiquette and it is
your responsibility to find out about the "rules".
** That is very unfair when the rules are unpublished. Would it be so
hard to include them in the welcome message as I suggested?
Anyway, now you
know about the "rules" and if you continue to quote the entire
original message (not including any quoted material at all is also
bad, however) you can't really say that you didn't know about the
rules ;-)

that there are no other unpublished rules you expect me to know beforehand.
