been trying to hack the chat script samples from the
man pages of pppd and chat but no luck. though i
found some hints.
im using the lines below as my /etc/ppp/chat-isp:
ABORT "NO CARRIER"
ABORT "NO DIALTONE"
ABORT "ERROR"
ABORT "NO ANSWER"
ABORT "BUSY"
ABORT "Username/Password Incorrect"
"" "at"
OK "at&d0&c1"
OK "atdt2468135"
"name:" "^Umyuserid"
"word:" "\qmypassword"
"ispts" "\q^Uppp"
"~-^Uppp-~"
my modem dials out connects to the ISPs modem,
handshakes and nothing...
/var/adm/messages said "connect script failed"
THOUGH the modem is still connected to the other
modem!! (the CD LED of my modem is still on)
so i issued another "pppd call my-isp"
and /var/adm/messages printed,
"User Access Verification"
then nothing again,
i sent another "pppd call my-isp", and
it prints "Username:" another "pppd call my-isp"
it prints "Password:"
Seems its waiting for a carriage return after
dialling, something like the post terminal screen sa
windows.
<ENTER>
User Access Verification
<ENTER>
Username: inapatricia <ENTER>
Password: secret <ENTER>
......
can please help me naman oh!! if you can debug the
script above for me..,,
thanks a lot!!
