Apache-SSL is a generic term. It refers to either Ben-SSL or mod_ssl.
"Ben-SSL" is Apache + SSLeay, written by Ben Laurie, one of the authors of
the O'Reilly Apache book (OpenSSL was derived from Eric A Young's SSLeay..
after EAY started working for RSA Security Australia and stopped
developing SSLeay which competes directly with RSAref).

So to wit: Ben-SSL is based on SSLeay which is no longer under
development. So it's deprecated. Use mod_ssl.

Any sufficiently perverted technology is indistinguishable from Perl.
