when you issue mount, mount checks the fstab for additional info on the
device ur mounting. check the /etc/fstab file, one of the columns there
stands for the filesystem type.  one of the rows there is for /dev/fd0, and
the second to the last column (i think) is for the filesystem. you need to
specify the filesystem for the floppy there... check out the man page for
fstab for details.

i tried mounting a floppy with this command:
$ mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
but it says
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
i tried mounting the CD-ROM and it works.
i tried mount a floppy in a slack ware box and it mounted too.
is there something missing in my command line?
